The Alpharetta Garden Club designs and maintains the Mansell House Gardens. The gardens are a First-Place Winner of the Historic Gardens Award for the State of Georgia and for the Deep South Region of the Garden Clubs of America.

The perennial beds are located between the gazebo and the arbor. Just east of the gazebo is the rose garden, which begins blooming in June. A huge, 125-year-old oak tree surrounded by a wooden bench anchors the east end of the gardens.

The Memorial Garden is on the west side of the Mansell House. (Click image on left to see an enlarged picture in a new window.) Shrubs and trees are planted and a plaque is placed in the garden in memory of club members. A commemorative brick walkway is being developed. Personalized bricks for the walkway may be purchased from the Alpharetta Historical Society or the Alpharetta Garden Club for $35 each. See our Gift Shop page for ordering information.

Many weddings are held in the picturesque gardens with the ceremony being conducted in the arbor or gazebo.
